The Doc Wör Mirran ecosystem of collaborations is capable of producing any music from hautingly beautiful ambient ballads to more or less ouright noise. This collaboration between DWM anchor and multiinstrumentalist Joseph B. Raimond, his bandmate Michael Wurzer, and free-form vocal noise improviser Klaus-Peter John aka The Oval Language charts the outer realms of weirdness and noise in the most playful and exhilarating way imaginable. It makes sense that Wurzer, a regular member of the DWM collective, appears here under the moniker of his solo project Kopfschmerztablette, as the overdriven noisy sound palette he employs here is more representative of his solo work than of most of his DWM contributions.
The connection between The Oval Language and Doc Wör Mirran, open-eared and open-minded as they both are while always remaining open to the possibilities and beauty of pop-based structures (even if used ironically), is a match made in heaven. Or, more precisely, a match made at the “re:flections sound-art festival” curated by attenuation ciruit label head Sascha Stadlmeier for several years, where The Oval Language and Doc Wör Mirran performed together for the first time.
